Bardo means the intermediate state between two lives. According to Tibetan tradition, after death and before one's next birth, when one's consciousness is not connected with a physical body, one experiences a variety of phenomena. For the spiritually advanced, the bardo offers a state of great opportunity for liberation, since transcendental insight may arise with the direct experience of reality, while for others it can become a place of danger as the karmically created nightmare can drive one into a less than desirable rebirth. This teaching will help us become familiar with bardo experience and will let us know what is to be embraced and what is to be abandoned at this intermediate stage.

Retreat hours: Fri. 7-9pm, Sat. 10am-12pm & 3-5pm, Sun. 10am-12pm followed by a Dakini Day Tsok at 1 PM. The cost is $15 per session, or $60 for the full weekend (suggested donation). It is traditional to offer a kata and gift to the teachers after the teaching. For other events, see www.sattvafoundation.org
